Banquet and AGM

The Toronto GAA AGM has been rescheduled to January 18th, 2009. The AGM will take place at the Holiday Inn Express Toronto East (http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/ex/1/en/hotel/YYZEX/welcome) The Awards Banquet will take place the night before, on January 17th, 2009 at the Rembrandt Banquet Hall. Please RSVP for the banquet by December 1st, 2008, and provide us with the number of tables your club requires.

Awards and By-Law Amendments
Player of the Year nominations/votes, By-Law amendments and (optional) GAA Person of the Year nominations must be received by December 1st, 2008.

For Player of the Year, please submit:
-Under 21 Player of the Year nomination from your club
-Under 21 Player of the Year vote for a player from a club other than your own
-Senior Player of the Year nomination from your club
-Senior Player of the Year vote for a player from a club other than your own

Nominations for GAA Person of the Year are optional.

By-Law amendments must cite the by-law to be amended, and provide the wording for the proposed amendment . Please see the attached Toronto GAA By-laws.

Proposal for 2008-09 Mens League

The Toronto GAA will propose, at the AGM, the implementation of the following split of the Mens Senior League.
-Teams will be given the option to play in the Senior 15-a-side league, or the Senior 9-a-side/11-a-side league.
-The championship will remain 15-a-side, and all teams will have equal opportunity to compete.

Feedback on this proposal prior to the AGM would be appreciated.

Canadian Gaels Fundraiser
The Canadian Gaels, a hockey team with many Toronto GAA members, is holding a Texas Hold'em Night at the Galway Arms on Saturday December 6th at 2pm. It is a $40 buy-in with 50% going to the winner and 50% to the team. Come out and support the Canadian Gaels!
